It’s a good idea to write yourself a check list to make sure all of your favourite stuff is covered.

No Licence Needed

You do not require a licence to charter one of our cruisers. We brief you completely before you set out and are on hand to help you with all aspects of skippering during your time with us. Navigation in our area is visual (if you can see it, don’t run over it!). Each vessel is fully supplied with area charts and we are on call for 24 hour telephone contact.

Security Bond

A Security Bond of $2000/$2500 (depending on vessel) is to be lodged prior to departure, by way of credit card authority or other arrangement.

  • If no damage, loss of equipment or incident is discovered by the operator, then the Security Bond is released.
  • If some damage or loss occurs, the costs for the damage up to the Security Bond is deducted, and the balance refunded or returned.

Deposits, Cancellations and Payments

  • We require a $500 deposit to confirm your booking. The balance of full charter cost is required 60 days before departure.
  • In the event that the charter is cancelled within 60 days of the departure date, the full charter fee shall remain due and payable and will not be waived or refunded unless the Operator is able to obtain an alternative booking for the same charter period. In the event that such an alternative booking is secured, the charter fee is refundable less 25% as costs for securing the replacement charter and administration expenses.
  • Payment can be made by Bank Deposit, Cheque, Cash or Visa/Mastercard (1.5% credit card fee applies as @ the 1st of June, 2018).

Operational Service Fee (Based on Engine Hours)

Our boats are full of water, fuel, tender fuel, gas, linen, and other such consumables. Use of these consumable are included in the charter fee. However, there is an Operational Service Fee based on the engine hours used during charter. Upon your return, we check the engine hours used and issue you an invoice for the operational service fee.

As a guide, allow around 2 engine hours per day in order to keep boat systems (hot water, battery charging etc.) operational. Obviously, this will depend on your use of these boat systems.

  • Catamarans – Twin engine system, $27.50 per average engine hour ($13.75 each engine)
  • Motor Cruisers – Twin engine system $40.0 per average engine hour ($20 each engine)

Travel Insurance

In the unlikely event that you need to cancel your booking, your booking fee is non-refundable. You may also wish to consider holiday or travel insurance.
