General Information
Cast Off With Confidence
Accidents can happen. Your vessel is insured under a marine Insurance Policy. However, under standard industry charter agreements, there remains the potential for the charterer to be responsible for significant costs that are not covered by the vessel's insurance Policy. (E.g. insurance excesses, redelivery and re-detailing, lost income during repairs, etc)
To overcome this potential liability for our clients, Fraser Island Escape offers you limited liability* in the unlikely event something does go wrong. This is unlike the vast majority of other bareboat charter operations who require the charterer to indemnify the operator in the event of accident.
In an industry-first initiative, Fraser Island Escape will limit your liability to the Security Bond provided.
*Limited Liability is provided on the understanding that the vessel is operated in accordance with the Charter Agreement.
Booking Deposit
We require a deposit of $500 to confirm your booking and reserve your vessel for the dates booked.
Balance of Charter
The full balance of your charter fee is to be paid 60 days before departure.
Security Bond
A security bond of $1000 is to be lodged prior to departure, by way of credit card authority or other pre-arranged means.
- If no damage, loss of equipment or incident is reported to the operator, then the Security bond is released.
- If some damage or loss occurs, the costs for the damage up to the Security Bond is deducted, and the balance refunded or returned.
Travel Insurance
In the unlikely event that you need to cancel your booking, your booking fee is non-refundable. You may also wish to consider holiday or travel insurance.
Fuel Use
Our boats are full of fuel for the engines and the dinghy as well as cooking and BBQ gas. Use of these 'consumables' are governed by the number of hours that you run the main engines of your boat for. Upon your return, we check the engine hours used and issue you an invoice for fuel use accordingly.
As a rough guide, allow about 2 engine hours per day at a cost of about $25.00 per hour on motor yachts like Intrepid and Moondancer, and $18.00 per hour on sailing yachts like Morpheus, Jeza Bell, Velella and Boomerang.
Payment
We prefer payments by direct Bank Deposit. However, we accept Cheque, Cash or Visa/MasterCard (2.5% credit card fee applies).
